Default Common reasons for fuel cut symptoms 1st gen DSM

Might be getting a 1st gen DSM in good shape. Only thing is the guy says it has "fuel cut" but he isn't sure if it is that. I'm guessing boost leaks, maybe he is receiving some fuel cut. It has an EVO 3 turbo and manifold on it. Other than the two obvious, what else is there to consider.

Has the fuel system been upgraded to go with that turbo?

A bone stock dsm with that turbo is gonna fuel cut somewhere around or north of 15psi with a decent exhaust. Boost leaks will make it cut sooner. Hacking the maf will make it cut less or later. Leak test the intake and ugrade the stock injectors.
